Viron XT Variable Speed Pump
Structural damage typically occurs in areas of increased stress on the pool shell, including skimmers, corners and depth transitions. In any case, you will need to first determine the damage type - surface or structural. Surface cracks can be caused by shrinking during the curing process when the pool was built, these cracks are shallow and not necessarily a leak issue. Structural damage to the pool shell is more serious and will likely end in leaking if not treated.
Repairing structural damage to a pool can be difficult, and to adequately do so, you need to identify the cause. Generally, it comes down to a select few reasons - substandard construction; resulting in weakness, difficult soil conditions; resulting in extreme pressure on the pool shell, or the pool has been poorly engineered and designed. In the event of structural damage, you should consult a local technician or pool builder.
